How Much Skill is Needed to Install Ghost
I have seen a lot of people talking about how difficult it is to install Ghost. Ghost is in a very early stage so at this point it takes a little bit longer to install than it will in the future. This does not mean that you should just wait until they have a one click install for you to try out Ghost.
When looking at our how to articles, it can very quickly look like it is over your head and you wont know how to do it. This is absolutely false. You do not need any computer experience to install Ghost. Our how-to articles will walk you through step by step how to do everything. You can practically copy and past what is in our article onto your computer to get it up and running.
It takes a few steps, but we have detailed how to install Ghost on almost every operating system and on most of the popular hosting platforms. If you are looking to get your Ghost blog up and try it, check out our articles and give yourself 10-15 minutes and you will have Ghost up and running. It is not as hard as it looks.
Where to Start
The place that most people start is to install Ghost on their local machine, just to test it out, see what it looks like, etc. (We have articles for most operating system on the right hand column under Install Ghost On) If you are looking to run Ghost online, our favorite hosting company so far is DigitalOcean. For $5 a month you can host Ghost and it has the fastest time from creating an account to having Ghost up and running. We also think HostGhost.io is going to be incredible, but as of right now they are still in beta, but once they come out of beta, they will be an amazing option.
