How to Publish to Feedburner from Your Ghost Blog

Ghost already comes with RSS built in, but if you would like to use Feedburner instead, here is how you can change it:

  1. Log in or sign up at feedburner.google.com
  2. Type in your blog's URL where it says "Burn a feed right this instant".
  3. Keep clicking through the steps and make any edits you wish (you shouldn't need to make any if you do not want to).
  4. Once you have completed the steps, your feed is setup on Feedburner. Now we need to add it to Ghost.
  5. FTP or SSH into your Ghost instance and if you are using the default Casper theme, open up your navigation.hbs file in a text editor (in the partials folder). If not using Casper, this is most likely in your default.hbs file.
If you are new to creating or editing a theme, check our our theme basics posts for information on how themes work with Ghost
  6. You will most likely see href="{{@blog.url}}/rss/" somewhere in the file (line 11 for Casper). Change this to your new feedburner url. Ex. href="feeds.feedburner.com/ghostforbeginners"
  7. Save the file and restart Ghost. Now, when you click on the RSS icon, it will take you to the Feedburner page rather than the Ghost XML file! You're done!
